Our team has designed and built trading systems for the largest financial institutions, while our advisors have held trading and technology leadership roles at some of the world’s most prominent asset management firms. With extensive experience on the vendor and client-side, we are intimately familiar with the requirements of both the buy side and service provider community from a technology, workflow, regulatory compliance and service perspective.
As CEO of Talos, Anton Katz is responsible for leading the firm’s overall operations and driving its strategic initiatives. Prior to co-founding Talos, Mr. Katz served as Head of Trading Technology for AQR Capital Management, one of the world’s most prominent quantitative investment firms. Prior to that he spent six years at Broadway Technology, most recently serving as Director of Software, where he led trading technology development projects for dozens of leading banks, asset managers and vendors. He began his technology career at Microsoft. Mr. Katz is a veteran of the Israel Defence Forces, and prior to that was a member of the Israeli National Shooting Team. He holds a degree in Computer Science from MIT.
As CTO of Talos, Ethan Feldman is responsible for leading the firm’s global technology organization. Prior to co-founding Talos, Mr. Feldman spent ten years at Broadway Technology, where he worked alongside Talos co-founder Anton Katz. While at Broadway, he developed technology for dozens of leading banks, asset managers and vendors. He began his technology career at Microsoft. Mr. Feldman holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Computer Science from Cornell University.
As Head of Sales and Business Development at Talos, Alfonse Mandese is responsible for executing the firm’s go-to-market strategy, building partnerships and driving future revenue growth. Prior to joining Talos, Mr. Mandese led sales and business development in the Americas for Ledger Enterprise Solutions. Before that, Mr. Mandese spent seven years in the traditional capital markets space. He holds a degree in Economics from Franklin & Marshall College.
AdvisorJennifer Hill CEO, Murphy Hill Consulting
Over the course of her career, Jennifer Hill has served in a wide range of financial management and executive leadership positions at some of the world’s largest financial institutions. As CEO of Murphy Hill Consulting, Ms. Hill serves on the boards of multiple firms, including Santander Asset Management, Melqart Asset Management and Arkadia Asset Management. She previously served as CFO of Merrill Lynch & Co. and the wholesale banking division of Bank of America, a role she took after leading the restructuring and sale of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Ms. Hill has also held senior positions at Tisbury Capital, Goldman Sachs, Citi and Credit Lyonnais. She is a graduate of Hamilton College and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
AdvisorDavid Cushing Ex-Director of Global Trading, Wellington
Dave has been a pioneer in markets and trading across the span of his career. In his roles in brokerage (ITG Inc. and Lehman Brothers) and asset management (Wellington Management, Inference Group, and Pine Grove Capital), he was primarily responsible for the conception and commercialization of what are today staple applications and business processes across financial markets services, including trading algorithms, TCA, and comprehensive trading due diligence, conflict management and operational risk controls for the buy side. He has advised numerous exchanges and private market operators on key market design issues, including opening and closing mechanisms. He is a named Inventor on 8 issued patents across this innovation stack. In addition to his product and process expertise, Dave has been a co-founder of two technology-driven hedge funds. His long tenure on both the buy- and sell sides and accomplishments as an innovator give him a unique and powerful perspective on market function and technologies. He continues to push the envelope and help shape the evolution of market structure and technology in the cryptocurrency space.
AdvisorTim Grant Head of Europe, Galaxy Digital
As Head of Europe for Galaxy Digital, Tim Grant is responsible for expanding the firm’s presence in Europe across all business lines as well as overseeing operations and key client relationships. Before that, he was CEO of SIX Digital Exchange, where he led the digital asset exchange unit of European exchange and financial data leader SIX Group. He previously founded DrumG Technologies, a builder/operator of distributed ledger technology applications and networks for the global financial services industry, and he also served as CEO of the R3 Lab and Research Center. Prior to entering the digital asset sector, Mr. Grant was Head of Quantitative Research and Head of Technology for multi-strategy hedge fund UBS O’Connor. He has also held senior roles at Benchmark Solutions, a Warburg Pincus-backed fintech startup, as well UBS, where he led the Delta Americas portfolio solutions business within UBS Investment Bank. Mr. Grant holds a degree in Materials Science and Metallurgy from the Trinity Hall at the University of Cambridge and a MSc in Financial Engineering from the Birkbeck College at the University of London.
AdvisorNeal Pawar COO, Qontigo
As Chief Operating Officer, Neal Pawar is responsible for Qontigo’s portfolio of index and analytics products, technology & engineering, operations and project management areas. Over the course of his career, Neal has worked for a diverse set of leading firms in multiple segments of the finance industry, consistent with Qontigo’s expanding footprint in the marketplace today. Prior to joining Qontigo, he most recently served as Group Chief Information Officer at Deutsche Bank and, before that, as a partner and Chief Technology Officer at AQR Capital. Earlier, Neal was Chief Information Officer with UBS Wealth Management in Zurich and a partner at the D.E. Shaw Group for 11 years, where he held a number of positions, including Global Head of Back-Office Technology (later spun off as Arcesium). Neal holds a degree in computer science from Brown University.
